Belarusnafta purchases Siberian oil and gas company
Izvestiya newspaper reports Belarusnafta paid 3,575 billion Russian roubles (over $100 mln) for the right to drill Russian oil and gas.
The newspaper informs that Rockefeller Oil Company, which belongs to Stephen Clark Rockefeller, also wanted to buy the Siberian oil and gas company "Yangpur".
"Yangpur" has four licenses for detection and production of oil and gas in Tumen region. In 2013, the company plans to produce 67 thousand tons of oil, 63,9 million cubic meters of gas and 6,9 thousand tons of gas condensate. During the crisis, the company bankrupted and its actives (concentrated in the "Yangpur" CJSC and the "Yangpur" LLP) were auctioned, according to Izvestiya.
However, the possibility of transportation of gas from Tumen region to Belarus looks doubtful, in the experts' opinion.
The Belarusian authorities numerously voiced their desire to produce gas at the territory of Russia many times. "Yangpur" will become the first oil-producing asset of Belarusnafta in Russia. Previously, such projects were realized by the Belarusian state company only in Venezuela and Iran, BelaPAN reminds.
