Crosses brought down in Kurapaty, riot police encircle territory (photo, video)

The Kurapaty crosses are being demolished, Nasha Niva refers to a witness. “There are a lot of machines, the crosses are being brought down,” he said.
Driving inspectors have blocked all the roads leading to Kurapaty and won’t allow anyone to stop near the restaurant “Poedem, Poedim”, Nasha Niva reports. Workers and machines can be seen from afar.
The riot police have encircled Kurapaty and are not allowing people to enter the territory.
Kurapaty is a place where numerous victims of Stalin’s repressions were buried. The exact number of people buried there is unknown.
Activists started protesting against the restaurant “Poedem, Poedim” opened not far from Kurapaty a few months ago. Zmitser Dashkevich organized the installation of new crosses next to the entertainment complex. These crosses are being brought down now.
Pavel Sevyarynets has been detained during a protest.
