Lukashenka comments on ‘language wave’: Do you want to lose your heart or mind?

Alyaksandr Lukashenka has commented on the language issue in his State of the Nation Address. “A language wave has arisen again. This issue was already closed,” Lukashenka announced. “We have two state languages – Russian and Belarusian. Russian means neither Ukrainian nor the language of the Russian Federation. If we lose the Russian language we will lose our mind and if we lose the Belarusian language, we will lose our heart. What would you like to lose?”

One can see the inscription “Mind the speed regime” in Belarusian when driving along the highway, the President said. “I can understand it, somebody else can understand it but Russians cannot,” Alyaksandr Lukashenka said. “They may start thinking about Lukashenka’s regime again. We had to bring back the Russian inscription.”
