Navapolatsk will be the next city to switch to electric transportation. The decision was made by the government, it was published on the National Legal Internet portal on Friday. Previously, such a project was implemented in Zhodzina and Shklou. In the spring, the government admitted that Navapolatsk could become the next city. It turned out to be true.
The city will install charging stations with the total electric power of up to 2880 kW. The project of full transition of Navapolatsk to electric transport will be financed from the local budget and own funds of organizations, as well as from "other sources". It will be realized by the end of next year.
"And then we'll go all over the country," said Piotr Parkhomchyk, when he was still deputy prime minister. By February 2026, the Ministry of Transport and the Ministry of Industry should prepare recommendations for further implementation of the project in the country based on the experience gained in the three cities.
