Norway is the first country where electric cars outnumber gasoline cars. "This is historic," says Øyvind Solberg Thorsen, director of the Norwegian Transport Administration.

Of the 2.8 million passenger cars registered in Norway, just over 754,000 are electric cars, just under 754,000 are gasoline-powered cars, and about 366,000 are hybrids.

The rapid growth of electric cars in Norway is evident. By 2026, it is projected that the number of electric cars will surpass the number of diesel cars, which currently stands at about one million. Notably, their numbers are on a downward trend. In August this year, over 11,000 cars were sold in Norway, with a staggering 94% being electric.

The electrification of the country's car fleet is progressing rapidly thanks to government initiatives.
