Belarusians have good command of English, says Swedish rating
What's your level?
Belarus ranked 35th in the world in terms of English language proficiency, according to a rating by the Swedish company EF Education First.
In total, the rating assessed the level of English proficiency of residents of 116 countries. The compilers of the rating tested the language skills of 2.1 million residents of large cities.
The results are divided into five categories: very high English proficiency (there are only 9 countries in this category), high, moderate, low and very low. Belarus was included in the list of countries with a moderate level of English proficiency, but took one of the top lines.
Where do Belarus' neighbors rank in this rating? Poland and Lithuania occupy higher lines, Russia and Ukraine - below us.
The Netherlands (with a significant gap), Norway and Singapore are in the top three.
