According to a rating by the Swedish company EF Education First, Belarus ranked 35th in the world in terms of English language proficiency.

The rating assessed the level of English proficiency of residents of 116 countries. Its compilers tested the language skills of 2.1 million residents of large cities.

The results are divided into five categories: very high English proficiency (only nine countries are in this category), high, moderate, low, and very low. Belarus was included in the list of countries with a moderate level of English proficiency but took one of the top lines.

Where do Belarus' neighbors rank in this rating? Poland and Lithuania occupy higher lines, while Russia and Ukraine are below us.

The Netherlands (with a significant gap), Norway, and Singapore are in the top three.
