Belarus has allegedly imported several dozen nuclear missile warheads. This was announced by Alyaksandr Lukashenka on December 10 during his trip to Barysau.

"I imported nuclear warheads here. Not a dozen of them. Many people write: "Ah, it's a joke, nobody brought anything". Well, they did. And the fact that they say it's a joke means that they missed it. They didn't even notice how we brought them here," Lukashenka's press service reports him as saying.

Both domestic and foreign experts have expressed doubts about the presence of nuclear weapons on the territory of Belarus. In November, the Association of Former Belarusian Law Enforcement Agents BELPOL concluded that there were no Russian nuclear weapons in Belarus.

Later, at the NATO summit, a senior official of the alliance said that Belarus has no long-term deployment of nuclear weapons.

Nevertheless, the Secretary of the Security Council of Belarus, Alyaksandr Valfovich, claimed that Lukashenka had both the "red button" and the "nuclear suitcase".

The deployment of Russian tactical nuclear weapons in Belarus was announced in the summer of 2023.
