Opponents of the accumulator plant in Brest are collecting signatures to send an appeal to Alyaksandr Lukashenka. They would like to change the dangerous enterprise, Radio Liberty refers to BelaPAN.
They have suggested moving one of the workshops of the foundry “Brestgazapparat” or of the lamp plant to the future plant.
Opponents of the accumulator plant gathered in Lenin Square in Brest on May 26. About 130 people joined the action, rights defenders report. “The plant owners are pretending that the plant is still being tested while it is already functioning,” the participants of the meeting said.
Activists have been on guard near the accumulator plant since May 3.
