Opposition action in Minsk (video)
An opposition street action was held in Minsk on the evening of September 12. More than 200 people came to October Square to demand a fair and just election. They criticized the official parliamentary election results – only 1 representative of an opposition party and 1 – of the civil society have become MPs. Mikalai Statkevich, Uladzimir Nyaklyayeu, Anatol Lyabedzka, Pavel Sevyarynets, Zmitser Dashkevich and other activists took part in the action. A campaign for fair elections is starting in Belarus, Statkevich announced.
The column marched towards the House of the Government along Independence Avenue. Nobody was detained. Policemen drew up reports against the politicians who made speeches at the action.
