Israel's MFA responds to Lukashenka's statements about the Holocaust and the war in Gaza

Israel has criticized Lukashenka's statements about the Holocaust and the war in Gaza. A statement by the Israeli MFA emphasizes that Belarus is a country that itself "knows all too well the horrors of the Holocaust carried out on its own soil."
"Any comparison between the Holocaust of the Jewish people and Israel’s just war against terrorism must be unequivocally rejected.
Equally appalling is the revival of vile, outdated antisemitic conspiracies that should have long been consigned to history." — the Israeli MFA stated.
The statement came in response to Lukashenka's interview with Al Arabiya, in which he drew parallels between Israel's actions in the Gaza Strip and the Holocaust: "They have already earned such a reputation in the international community that it can't get any worse, having bombed Gaza to rubble. Many have even looked back at history: 'What Holocaust?! What Holocaust could there possibly be, the one Israelis talked about, when they have killed so many people, and above all women and children?'"
Lukashenka also accused the "Jewish lobby" of prolonging the conflict between the United States and Iran.
Lukashenka said it was a “fact” that Israel had drawn Washington into the war, while arguing that the United States could not have been involved unless it wanted to be.
“It would be ridiculous and wrong to claim that Israel, barely visible on the world political map, could drag such an ‘elephant’ and powerful state as the United States into a war,” he said. “The Americans, let’s put it this way, wanted to be drawn into this war.”
Euroradio previously wrote about Lukashenka's anti-Semitic statements over many years.
The remarks made by the President of Belarus - a country that knows all too well the horrors of the Holocaust committed on its own soil - in his interview with Al Arabiya are unacceptable and deeply disturbing.
