Alyaksandr Lukashenka alters Olympic motto
The most important thing is not to take part but to win.
The Belarusian state leader made the statement during the festive seeing-off of Belarusian sportsmen before the XXX Summer Olympic in London.
Lukashenka: "The Olympic Flame will be brought to the capital of Great Britain soon. It will mark the beginning of the main sporting event of the plant. Belarusian athletes did not redeem their promise four years ago in Beijing but demonstrated a high skill level and won two dozen medals which helped our country get to the top-20 of the leading sport countries of the world. It is good to take part but the most important thing is not to take part but to win. This is my instruction on behalf of the Belarusian people".
Lukashenka noted that Belarusian sportsmen will struggle for their country's prestige in the first place in London. According o him, sport is a very high level of diplomacy.
