“Bulbash-hall”: We have a project

A restaurant for 400 people, guest houses, a bath-house and a playground may soon appear near Kurapaty's crosses.

"Our Restaurant Group", the owners of such restaurants as "Kushavel', "Tuse" and "Dacha" are in charge of the project. They assure that the restaurant complex is not going to be built on bones.

“No bones were found during the excavation. It is being built near Kurapaty. But we have many objects near cemeteries - like the cinema "Mir". It is up to the state to decide. We are doing everything according to an approved project," the company claimed.

Construction of "Bulbash-hall"

The Ministry of Culture has no remarks. But they will check the construction documents anyway.  

Such thing should be regulated by traditions and morality instead of the law, politician Zyanon Paznyak thinks.

Zyanon Paznyak: “People can live near a cemetery. But you cannot dance the can-can on top of a coffin. Such things are regulated by culture in Europe (Western. - Euroradio). But culture is being eliminated in Belarus."

Dozens of thousands of people were shot in  Kurapaty during Stalin-era repressions. From 30 to 250 thousands people are said to have been killed there, various sources report.
