Head of Belarusian Association of Journalists also banned from going abroad
Zhanna Litvina found this out on March 15 in the national airport "Minsk" when she tried to fly to Warsaw on a business trip.
According to her, the customs officers simply told her that her name was in the list of people whose right for going abroad was limited. Litvina says that this is a sign that the pressure on the civil society has been increased. It is a shame that all this became known in the Constitution Day, she notes. Let us remind you, Article 30 of the Constitution grants the Belarusian citizens the right for free movement.
Besides, Litvina has become the first in the list of the "travel banned" whose passport was stamped with the corresponding stamp "departure denied" by the customs officers. They informed the BAJ Chairperson that the police had included her name into the list and she should demand explanations from them.
Zhanna Litvina is going to consult with the lawyers and to file enquiries to all the state structures which might be connected with this case today.
It has also become known today that TV-journalist Mikhas Yanchuk was not allowed to leave Belarus either.
