Lyubou Kavalyova asks to impose moratorium on death penalty
Uladzislau Kavalyou’s mother has sent a letter to the state leader.
She is asking to keep her son going and to impose a moratorium on the death penalty. Lyubou Kavalyouva will bring the appeal to the President’s Administration today. The woman has informed Euroradio about it.
Kavalyouva: “I am asking the President to pardon my son and to think about imposing a moratorium on the death penalty”.
Lyubou Kavalyova has written the letter herself - without the assistance of her son’s lawyer or human rights activists. She will bring it to the President’s Administration on her own too. She has only asked journalists to join her at 12 p.m. on December 1.
She does not know whether Dzmitry Kanavalau’s parents are planning something like that. She has not met them and has not discussed possible joint efforts to save their children from death.
Let us remind you that Dzmitry Kanavalau and Uladzislau Kavalyou were returned guilty of the terrorist act in Minsk metro on April 11 and a number of other blasts and were sentenced to death on November 30.
