Mirny and Nestor win Rolland Garros
This is the fourth victory of the Belarusian tennis player at this tournament, and the second one - in the duet with the Canadian.
Maxim Mirny and Daniel Nestor defeated
brothers Bob and Mike Bryans, who represented the United States, in the final
of men's doubles — 6:4, 6:4. The Belarusian-Canadian duet performed 8 aces and
made two breaks. The Americans made one ace and lost four break-points.
In the previous
years, Mirny won the Paris tournament twice - in 2005 and 2006 in a duet with
Sweden Jonas Bjorkman, and last season he also won, that time together with
Daniel Nestor.
Mirny has been a
champion in doubles at different competitions with different partners 44 times
for his entire professional career, which has started in 1996.
