Sausages confiscated from Belarusian merchant in Karelia (video)
An outbreak of African swine fever brought from Belarus was registered in one of the districts last year, the local veterinary service claimed.
A Belarusian fair has opened in Petrozavodsk, Karelia. Belarusian sausages were very popular there, gubdaily.ru reports. However, it turned out that the sausages had been brought to Russia without the necessary documents and veterinary check-ups.
Petrozavodsk inhabitants sent complaints to the Russian Agricultural Inspectorate. The sausages were confiscated from their owner and were sent to a check-up. They will be removed from the fair if something dangerous is found in them. The merchant may be fined for up to 1000 Russian roubles. However, the Belarusian has no ID on him.
