Belarus may extend visa-free stay from 5 to 30 days

Belarus may extend the visa-free regime for citizens from 80 countries from 5 to 10 or even thirty days, according to Belarusian Foreign Minister Uladzimir Makei. He noted in an interview with Financial Times that the government in Belarus will move towards this target 'gradually, step-by-step.' "By the end of this year we will have analyzed the situation in this field and put forward concrete proposals to the head of state regarding the extension of the visa-free regime," Makei said.

Belarus introduced a 5-day visa-free regime for citizens from 80 countries (including 39 countries in Europe and the United States) on 12 February 2017. Under the procedure, foreigners are required to enter Belarus only via the Minsk international airport. The visa-free regime does not apply to those traveling to Belarus by road or railway.
