Belarus Technical University to build new dormitory using China's money
China has allocated $40 million for the construction of a student dormitory for the Belarusian National Technical University, press service of the Ministry of Education reports.
The dormitory will be built in the "student village" in the quarter between Dzyarzhynsky Avenue, the Syamashki street and Churlyonisa street. The construction is to be completed by January 1, 2018. The building will be constructed by the "25th Company of China Railway Construction Corporation", said Deputy Minister of Education Siarhei Rudy.
The building will be designed to accomodate 1,032 people. It is planned that it will host students from China and Belarus enrolled in BNTU. On the ground floor of the dormitory, it is planned to open catering facilities, outpatient clinics, administrative offices, facilities for cultural events and public service, and a fitness center.
According to the Ministry of Education, now the student village is home to more than 7 thousand students from various Minsk-based universities, BelaPAN reports.
