Ex-director of Slodych: I did not eavesdrop on employees
The former director of a confectionery factory is standing trial in a Minsk's district court on charges of embezzlement and infringement on privacy.
Investigators insist the ex-director ordered to buy eavesdropping devices from a commercial company with the enterprise money. The devices were installed in service rooms in March 2012.
All the information about employees’ conversations was recorded on the director’s PC which violated the privacy of phone and other conversations. The conversations of over 35 employees were tapped.
The ex-director pled non-guilty of all the charges. She refused to cooperate with investigators and tried to create obstacles to their work. Over 50 witnesses and victims were interrogated during the investigation. Experts presented their conclusions, BELTA reports.
The enterprise is trying to make the director pay 202 million roubles – the money spent on the eavesdropping devices.
The ex-director was jailed in December 2013.
