Grave of Lukashenka’s mother – no pictures allowed
Such photos should not appear within 40 days after the woman’s’ death, “representatives of the family” insist.
Alyaksandr Lukashenka’s mother Katsyaryna Trafimauna was buried in the village of Himy, Orsha District of Vitsebsk Province on May 26. The cemetery is near the President’s home village Aleksandryya-2 where his mother had lived almost all her life.
The woman’s grave is covered with wreaths, Radio Liberty reports. It does not differ from the other graves – there are just a lot of wreaths. A wooden cross with Katsyaryna Trafimauna’s years of life is installed on the grave.
However, the journalist had to delete the photos of the grave and the cemetery. Two men who introduced themselves as representatives of the woman’s family insisted on it. Katsyaryna Trafimauna’s relatives do not want such pictures to appear within 40 days after her death, they said. They also told the journalist not to photograph the house built in place of Alyaksandr Lukashenka’s old house. The polite men asked the journalist not to bother fellow villagers either.
90-year-old Katsyaryna Trafimauna Lukashenka died on May 26 and was buried on the same day.
