Hrodna synagogue was on fire last night (photo, video)
Seven fire rescuing brigades arrived at the spot.
According to the press-office of the Ministry for Emergency Situations, the fire started on the first floor of the 3-level building of the Great Choral Synagogue. The security department brigade noticed the smoke and called the rescuers.
The fire rescuers managed to save the 100-year-old building. The fire damaged the ceiling between the first and the second floor. No one was hurt, the security guard was on the ground floor when the fire started.
The most likely reason for the fire is breaking the rules of the furnace heating exploitation (inflammation of soot in the fireplace).
