IMF mission to arrive in Belarus on June 21
A mission of the International Monetary Fund will arrive in Belarus on June 21 to work until June 30, Interfax-West reports. The foreign experts will assess the situation in Belarusian economy and conduct numerous meetings with at the government and the National Bank.
The Belarus authorities have hoped to get a $3bn credit from the IMF for a long time. The IMF insists on structural reforms in economy. Experts recommend the liberalisation of the prices, a reasonable monetary policy, privatisation, a targeted social assistance system and equal crediting terms for all enterprises.
