Lazavik: Some citizens agitate for goodness knows what
Candidates’ pre-election radio speeches will be broadcast in Belarus starting from February 24.
Candidates will be able to make their speeches on weekdays until March 14. Every candidate has the right for one free radio speech.
Euroradio asked CEC secretary Mikalai Lazavik whether the speeches would be broadcast live. He said:
"All the speeches will be recorded. The previous parliamentary election campaign was a lesson to us. It is too early to broadcast such speeches live because some citizens agitate for goodness knows what instead of elections… For some boycott.”
The local elections will be held in Belarus on March 23.
