77 inhabitants of Mahilyou have invited Alyaksandr and Mikalai Lukashenka and Darya Domracheva to take part in the republican community work day. They have sent their appeal to the National Olympic Committee.
The next republican community work day should be held in Mahilyou, the signees think. Lukashenka, his son and Domracheva have already taken party in a republican community work day before.
Initiator of the appeal Alyaksei Paulouski has suggested working in the rowing canal. Its construction has stopped due to the lack of financing.
Rowing is an Olympic kind of sport, Paulouski stressed. The rowing canal will help increase the number of Olympic medals in the future, he thinks.
The cost of the construction of the canal makes up half of Mahilyou budget. The city authorities have not been able to finish the construction for several years.
