Lukashenka: If oppositionist comes to power, public servants will stay
The President has announced it at a meeting with head of the House of Representatives Uladzimir Andreichanka.
Alyaksandr Lukashenka met with head of the House of Representatives Uladzimir Andreichanka on Monday, July 20. They discussed the presidential election. It is necessary to avoid populism and not to promise the impossible to the people, Lukashenka claimed.
Lukashenka: “Everyone likes making promises during election campaigns. However, the one who wins will have to fulfil them. I am sure that even if another person is elected, the current public servants will still be working because they do not appear out of the blue... Many of them will keep working even if someone else (even an oppositionist) comes to power...”
MPs should meet with people as often as possible and explain the situation in the country to them, the President thinks.
The Belarusian CEC has registered 8 initiative groups. They will start collecting signatures on July 23.
