Lukashenka: Turchinov was scared of Belarusian tanks in Kiev
President Lukashenka answered questions from MPs and senators after his annual State of the Nation address at the parliament.
"Turchinov is a normal person,” Alyaksandr Lukashenka shared his opinion about the acting President of Ukraine. The Ukrainian President is a good scientist and a very religious man, Lukashenka noted. However, ‘he is too nationalist… more nationalist that me and all of you together’, Lukashenka said.
Turchinov had nothing against the Belarusian authorities during his visit to Homel Province, he confessed. He was only worried about one thing. “He had been assured that Lukashenka had gathered troops in the north of Ukraine and was ready to move tanks to Kiev,” the Belarusian leader said and confessed that he could only move ‘tractors and ploughs’ there. “Do not even think about Putin coming to Kiev in a tank. I am absolutely sure that Russia does not need any war there,” Alyaksandr Lukashenka claimed.
Lukashenka was also against the so-called federalization of Ukraine. Someone will lay hands on part of the federation sooner or later, he stressed. That is why he supported Ukraine’s territorial integrity.
