Government pushes for car fee to raise money
Belarus Prime Minister Mikhail Myasnikovich tells MPs the unpopular annual car fee is necessary.
Speaking at the House of Representatives on Friday, Mikhail Myasnikovich announced the car fee rates. “It will be 390 thousand roubles a year for a Zhiguli, 650 thousands – for a Volkswagen and 1 million – for a Mercedes. The money will be spent on road repairs,” Interfax-West quotes Myasnikovich as saying.
Mikhail Myasnikovich asked MPs to support this unpopular measure.
