Obama to impose more sanctions on Russia
The law on Support of Ukraine’s Freedom will be signed by the end of the week.
Barack Obama will sign the new Russian sanctions bill approved by the Congress by the end of the week, the White House reports.
The U.S. President is still worried about the law, White House Press Secretary Josh Earnest said. However, it gives freedom for manoeuvres, the American leader thinks.
The law On Support of Ukraine imposes sanctions on Russia’s defence industry. It was approved by the overwhelming majority in the Congress last Saturday. The USA will impose sanctions on Rosoboronexport and other Russian defence enterprises.
The bill allows Obama to render military assistance to Ukraine but does not oblige him to do it.
Furthermore, the list of personal sanctions will also be expanded.
