Polish president invites Lukashenka to Warsaw

Polish President Andrzej Duda has invited his Belarusian counterpart Alyakasndr Lukashenka to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the outbreak of World War II, Radio Liberty reports. A large international meeting in Warsaw is scheduled for September 1, 2019.
“Poland will celebrate this date together with the countries with which we closely cooperate today for the benefit of peace in the world in accordance with the principles of international law. These include the countries of NATO, the European Union, and the Eastern Partnership, including Belarus as a member of this initiative,” the office of the Polish president reports.
According to the press service of President Duda, the Belarusian leader personally received an invitation.
Russian President Vladimir Putin was not invited to the celebrations in Warsaw.
