Ales Byalyatski gets no letters from his wife in detention center

The meeting lasted for an hour. Mrs. Pinchuk has told to Euroradio that she talked mostly about the family matters with her husband. It turned out that Ales Byalyatski did not receive his wife's letters, in which she told about his father's funeral.

"The meeting did happen and this alone makes me happy. We talked for about an hour. We looked at each other. I can say that he looks normally... Naturally, our conversation mostly concerned family matters. He asked about our son, and how his father's funeral was. I sent him a letter in which I told about all this, but he obviously didn't get it, that's why he asked. So, I told him everything once again"? - Natallia Pinchuk has said.

She failed to find out about Ales' condition due to the strict rules which concern meetings between the arrestees and their relatives.

"He did not speak about himself. We discussed common information which is not prohibited to talk about, and not in the list which they pasted to the glass there. Not to discuss confinement conditions etc. The only thing we understood is that this was our last meeting as Ales would be transferred to the place of serving punishment soon".

Natallia Pinchuk is now busy with the property confiscation case. The lady has told to Euroradio that she filed a claim to consider the confiscation illegal. This is why no one has bothered her so far.

Let us remind you, head of the human rights center "Vyasna" Ales Byalyatski has been sentenced to 4,5 years of imprisonment with confiscation of property for major tax evasion. He has been in prison since August 4, 2011. His appeal against the sentence was declined although all the damage caused to the state - 757 million roubles - was recompensed.
