CEC to consider Lapin, Mirzayanau and Kazlouski’s appeals (online)
The rejected deputy contenders’ appeals are being considered by the Central Election Commission.
The CEC has cancelled the decisions made on August 28. It happened when CEC members having the right for advisory vote managed to prove that the complaints had been lodged in time.
According to CEC member Syarhei Kalyakin, a technical failure occurred at
the post office and a wrong date was added to the complaints:
Kalyakin: “An employee of post office #53 accidentally put a wrong
date on the envelopes – August 27 instead of August 24. That is why CEC members
should be more careful when checking documents”.
Lepin, Mirzayanava and Kazlouski’s complaints will be considered together with
other Minsk candidates’ complaints on August 30.
