Lukashenka switches to Maybach? (photo)
The car has been appearing in the state leader's motorcade in Minsk for several weeks.
It was noticed in Independence Square this morning at 10 a.m. The car was accompanied by several police cars and huge black off-road vehicles with flashers. The traffic in Independence Square was blocked while the motorcade was heading for the building of the President's Administration.
Alyaksandr Lukashenka mentioned the Maybach during a press conference given for Russian journalists on October 16. "One Russian" gave him the car as a birthday present, the state leader claimed. However, Lukashenka did not want to use it "to avoid sticking his neck out".
The Maybach 57/62 (the model you can see in the photo) costs from 367 to 432 thousand euro depending on the set. It is the most expensive serial car in the world.
