Shock all over the world after Sandy Hook School shooting (photo, video)
World leaders have expressed their shock and sympathy over the horrific tragedy at the Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Connecticut.
The UN Secretary General Ban Ki-Moon, EU chief of diplomacy Catherine Ashton and EU Commission president Jose Barroso, prime ministers of Canada, UK, Australia as well as French President Francois Hollande have experssed their sympathies, ВВС reports. Belarusian leader Alyaksandar Lukashenka and Russia's president Vladimir Putin expressed their condolences as well.
On December 14, 27 people died at Sandy Hook Elemantary school, including 20 children. At the moment of the shooting, there were at least 600 students at the school.
The shooter was a 20-year-old Adam Lanza, who was also found dead at the scene. Earlier he murdered his own mother Nancy Lanza, who according to some sources worked at Sandy School as a substitute teacher. All three guns found at the murder scene were officially registered in her name.
The US president declared a 4-day mourning. Speaking hours after the tragedy, Barack Obama wiped tears.
