USA and Germany stand up for Byalyatski
The detention of Belarusian human rights activist Ales Byalyatski has aroused “great anxiety” in the USA.
The U.S. Embassy to Belarus has informed BelaPAN about it. American diplomats noted that non-governmental organizations like “Vyasna” play the key part in the system of containment and counterbalance in a democratic society.
In its turn, the German government has demanded that the Belarusian authorities should immediately release Byalyatski. The German government has condemned the usage of criminal legislation for political purposes.
