Will Belarusian doctors and teaches receive bigger salaries after army men?
Teachers in Moscow earn 8 times more than their Minsk colleagues, and Moscow doctors' salaries are three times bigger.
Belarusian state leader Alyaksandr Lukashenka promised to increase the salaries of the Belarusian army men twice. Russia will finance the Belarusian army.
Lukashenka: "We have an agreement with the President of Russia, I've sent him a letter on search of additional financing for the Belarusian military men. Basically, we have the common army, as we have one and the same tasks, while the scope of material supply of our military men and the Russian ones may differ by two times. This is unacceptable. The Russian President promised to help so we must deal with this issue seriously".
Euroradio has compared salaries of other state employees in Russia and Belarus.
Minsk polyclinic requires an endocrinologist. They are even ready to hire a pensioner or a disabled person!
"The salary is about 3 million roubles. Pensioners and disabled persons are welcome as it is not necessary to visit patients in their houses", - says an employee of Minsk polyclinic No 35.
BelStat informs that the average salary in Minsk is more than 3 million now. However, a school teacher of language and literature earns nearly twice less!
"The salary is about 1,8 million. They promise to increase it till 500 USD by the end of the year. They told this to everyone, but we are not accountants..." -this is how employees of Minsk school No. 135 see the perspectives.
Euroradio has called to the city hospital No. 3. Doctors earned more than 5 million in January there.
Hospital No. 3: "The average salary in January was 3 million 50 thousand roubles. We divide the whole salary fund to the average number of personnel. Doctors received 5 million 278 thousand roubles".
It is interesting that, even in Minsk, salaries in different hospitals differ considerably. In hospital No. 10, an average salary of a doctor made only three million roubles in 2011.
Hospital No.10: "Three million 175 thousand, paramedical staff - 1 million 978 thousand roubles, others - 1 million 402 thousand roubles. We have small salaries, they say. Other hospitals pay more. I don't know the reason for that."
So, how much do doctors and teachers earn in Russia? In some schools, teachers are paid up to 50 thousand roubles, if not more...
"An average salary in our school is 58 thousand roubles. We hope that it will become bigger since January 1. A teacher cannot earn less than he did before the New Year. However, you do realize that this is an average salary, it's like an average temperature in the hospital. Also, don't forget that Moscow is not Uryupinsk in any case", - they say in the school No. 1106 in Moscow.
58 thousand Russian rubles - this is almost two thousand dollars! 8 times more than Minsk teachers earn.
"I work in Krasnoyarsk as a teacher. I earn 4 thousand, and want more", - writes a teacher from Krasnoyarsk at the forum. This salary is closer to the Belarusian reality. 4 thousand Russian roubles is a little bit more than 130 dollars.
Russian doctors also earn more than their Belarusian colleagues. Vacancies in Moscow promise 20-40 thousand Russian roubles. As for the salary of a doctor from Altai Territory, it is only 5 thousand 160 Russian roubles, or 172 dollars.
Euroradio has calculated the average salaries in dollars for convenience. In Russia, an average salary in the sphere of education was 500 USD in the middle of the year 2011. In health care, an average salary was a little bit more - 545 USD. Their Belarusian colleagues earn twice less. Teachers got 207 USD in average in the end of 2011, doctors - 215, which is 8 dollars more.
