Sales of Belarusian trucks and buses in Russia collapse

In 2024, MAZ in Russia sold 5,309 large-capacity trucks (HCV), while in 2023 it sold 6,228 units, according to the AUTOSTAT agency. The HCV segment includes trucks with a total weight of more than 16 tons.
In December 2024, MAZ managed to sell 569 trucks, displacing China's Dongfeng (396 units) and Howo (278 units) to take the fifth place. This is 7% more than in December 2023. In the model ranking, MAZ 6312 sales were the best in December, up 18.8%.
MAZ does a little better in sales of new medium-duty trucks (MCV) in Russia. So last year the company sold 144 trucks, and a year earlier - 109.
In 2024 MAZ had a very bad situation with the sales of buses in Russia. According to the analytical company ASM-Holding, they have collapsed by 45.5%. If in 2023 925 new buses were sold, last year - only 504.
