The Belarusian Central Election Commission announced that 61 Belarusians came from abroad to vote in the so-called presidential elections. But how does this compare to the total number of those who have left the country? Here's what Euroradio calculated:

  • Around 500,000 Belarusians currently live in the European Union, having emigrated after 2020. The number of those who left earlier is unknown.
  • At least 200,000 Belarusians live and work in Russia.
  • Exact figures for Georgia, the USA, and other countries are unavailable, so they are not included in the calculation.

This means that 61 out of 700,000 equals 0.0087143%.
