Scotland votes against independence from UK
Over 60% of Scots vote against independence, preliminary data suggest.
The votes have been counted in 26 out of 32 counties, BBC reports. 1 million 176 thousand people (most of them are from Glasgow and Dundee) have voted for the independence from the United Kingdom. 1 million 397 thousands have voted contra (most of them are from Edinburgh, Aberdeen and Shetland). 1 million 852 thousand 828 votes are required to win the referendum.
According to the data presented by 30 counties, 44.5% have voted for the independence and 55.4% have voted contra. This, the adherents of independent Scotland have been outvoted.
