US Assistant Secretary of State mentions missing Belarusian politicians
Mary Harf's statement was published on the occasion of the 15th anniversary of the disappearance of Viktar Hanchar and Anatol Krasouski.
The US has offered Belarusian authorities to extend the statute of limitations for the cases of the missing politicians. They end this year. The statement stresses that the formal investigation has not produced significant results.
The United States also called for the immediate release of political prisoners and restoration of their political rights, informs BelaPAN.
