Anarchist Vyachaslau Kasinerau’s case sent to court

The case of the anarchist movement activist Vyachaslau Kasinerau was sent to Minsk's Maskouski District Court on April 5 but the date of the hearing is yet to be set.
“They have 14 days to study the case file and two more weeks to appoint the date of the trial,” detainee’s friend Maryna Nasenka told Radio Liberty.
Judge Alyaksandr Petrash will preside in Vyachaslau Kasinerau's case.
The lawyer visited Kasinerau on April 11. The anarchist is having problems with receiving correspondence, he noted. There are five people in Kasinerau’s cell while there are only 4 beds.
Kasinerau is facing hooliganism charges over the performance act he organized on March 12. The young man put a loop on the sculpture of a Russian Empire policeman mounted near the Inteior Ministry headquarters. He was protesting against police outrage and the persecution of his friends for taking part in peaceful protest actions.
Nine Belarusian human rights organizations have announced Kasinareu a political prisoner. They have urged the Belarusian authorities to stop criminal proceedings and immediately release the activist.
