Andrei Haidukou's cassational appeal to be considered on August 27
The civil activist from Novapolatsk got 1,5 years of imprisonment in a minimum security penal colony.
He was found guilty of an attempt to establish contacts with the foreign investigation without the signs of treason. Initially, Haidukou was accused under two articles" "Attempted crime" and "Treason". He faced 7-15 years in jail.
The activist was detained on November 8 last year. Andrei Haidukou spent all this time in custody, mostly in the KGB prison. Vitsebsk regional court made the sentence. It was a closed trial.
The Supreme Court will consider the cassational appeal on Tuesday, August 27, starting at 9.30 a.m., informs BelaPAN.
