Babruisk to become Belarus’ cultural capital in 2017

Babruisk will be Belarus’ cultural capital in 2017, the Ministry of Culture decided on Wednesday.

“Babruisk is one of the oldest Belarusian cities, it is an industrial and cultural centre and has a good geographical position and developed infrastructure,” the Ministry noted. The city will mark its 630^th anniversary next year.

Maladzechna is the cultural capital of Belarus this year. Polatsk, Homel, Nyasvizh, Mahilyou, Hrodna and Brest used to be the cultural capitals of our country in the past.
