Ballet rehearsals amid COVID19 epidemic
Rehearsal at the Bolshoi Opera and Ballet Theater / Euroradio
A young ballet master Siarhey Mikel is staging the Peer Gynt ballet in Minsk. The ballet is to be presented to the artistic expert board at the end of June. The premiere is to take place in autumn, at the beginning of the new theater season. Bolshoi is also rehearsing Giacomo Puccini's opera Le Villi.
The theater is restless. Information about the coronavirus outbreak was leaked to the press - three members of the company have tested positive for the virus, about 200 people are first-level contacts. Despite this, rehearsals don't stop. The dancers give 100% even though rehearsing in protective masks is much harder than without them.
We went behind the scenes to show you the inside of the beautiful action you see on stage. Ballet is exhausting, hard work, which is done here with a smile.

Rehearsals also take place on stage. It's beautiful!
Turn out the lights!
