Iodized salt no longer a must in Belarus foodstuffs
The April 18, 2014 Council of Ministers' Resolution No 373 allows businesses not to add iodized salt when producing foodstuffs in Belarus.
The text of the document is available at etalonline.by. The document cancels Resolution No 484 of April 6, 2001.
Under the previous measure, it was mandatory for legal entities and private entrepreneurs to use iodized salt in food production to prevent illnesses caused by the lack of iodine (except from ocean fish and seafood).
