Russian PM: Belarus needs to speed up privatisation
Prime Minister Dzmitry Medvedev says Russia and Belarus may have signed joint projects by the end of the year if Belarus expedites privatization.
Medvedev announced it after the meeting of the Union Council of Ministers in Minsk on October 21.
"We think that Belarus is interested in it and our partners want to do it, it may be done by the end of the year,” AFN quotes the Russian PM. If the decision is not made, it will be necessary to reconsider the cooperation prospects, he noted.
In particular, the idea of creation of a joint enterprise of Belarusian MAZ and Russian KAMAZ has been discussed for a rather long time, Medvedev said. It is necessary to realize two out of five joint integration projects by the end of the year, Belarusian PM Mihail Myasnikovih said. However, he did not specialty which projects were meant.
