KGB sends ‘patriots’ case’ to Investigation Committee

The State Control Committee has sent the criminal case for ‘the creation of an illegal armed unit’ to the Investigation Committee, head of the public relations department of the main office of the Investigation Committee Syarhei Kabakovich told Euroradio.
"According to the Belarusian legislation, creating an illegal armed unit is a crime directed against the civil security,” the Investigation Committee representative explained.
KGB has close the mass riots case, the Investigation Committee added.
The case is called “the patriots’ case” in mass mediaа. 14 suspects are still in jail. Some people have been put under house arrest.
The police detained more than 30 people at first. They were accused of preparation for mass riots. Half of them were accused of creating an illegal armed unit later. The others were gradually released and their charges were lifted.
