Lukashenka congratulates Tusk, future President of the European Comission
Polish PM Donald Tusk has been elected to the position at the recent EC summit in Brussels.
"I would like to whole-heartedly congratulate you on the election to the position of the President of the European Council which testifies to the high assessment of your political and professional qualities and stresses the strategic role of Poland in the European Union,” BELTA quotes Alyaksandr Lukashenka. The Belarusian President also expressed a hope that the mutually beneficial cooperation of Belarus and Poland would continue developing.
Donald Tusk (in the photo) will become President of the European Council on 1 December 2014. Polish President Bronisław Komorowski will accept the PM’s resignation next week.
