Lukashenka checks western borders
The president on Monday listened to a report prepared by the head of State Border Committee Leanid Maltsau.
Maltsau described the measures aimed at improving the border security system. Frontier guards did a good job during the recent Ice Hockey World Championship, he stressed.
Alyaksandr Lukashenka confessed that he would like to visit the border in summer ‘to see whether the previous requests orders had been executed”.
The Belarusian leader also suggested shooting a film on the islands of the Western Bug. “It would be interesting from the point of view of patriotic, political and military education,” Interfax-West quotes Lukashenka. Head of Brest Province Executive Committee Kanstantsin Sumar promised to put the territory with catacombs and ruins in order and organize tourist walking routes there three years ago, the President recalled.
"It would be great to shoot films there because it is impossible to find a better place in natural settings,” the Belarusian President told Maltsau.
