Lukashenka’s State of the Nation Address (online)

Alyaksandr Lukashenka is making his State of the Nation Address at a joint meeting of the House of Representatives and the National Assembly today, on April 29. It will be broadcast live on Belarus 1 and the First National Belarusian Radio Channel.

12.37. Alyaksandr Lukashenka has commented on the Parliament and its work. He touched upon the Law on Corruption Prevention. “It would be good if we adopted  it in eth second reading. The law should come into force as soon as possible,” Lukashenka said.

Never refuse from discussions with our oppositionists and even with the fifth column. On oppositionists: “Not all of them are bad and loathsome. Not all of them want to do harm to our country…” We do not need confrontation. It is necessary to talk to everyone.

11.54. The legal culture in the economy needs to be improved. The government, courts and the President’s Administration must prepare the corresponding documents by the end of the year.

On the social policy. We will all be pensioners one day. There will be no black cars and briefcases. We will become ordinary people sooner or later. We should remember it and create a normal state for the people.

11.50. Belarus needs an influx of foreign currency. It is necessary to change the export geography and structure. The approach to selling our products has to change.

"We produce goods and then everyone from the President to a villager starts making heroic attempts to find buyers,” Lukashenka said.

11.08. The year was full of events so the speech will be special, Lukashenka said. He will comment on the 70^th anniversary of the Victory and attempts to rewrite history. The President will touch upon the Victory Parade. There will be three meetings this year: on agriculture, housing and education (due to teachers and parents’ complaints, Lukashenka noted.

The fourth one will be dedicated to the President's pre-election programme.
