Reports: Armed militants enter Donetsk
The forces of ‘Donetsk People’s Republic’ reportedly get reinforcements.
One of the leaders of the structure Kiev announced to be a terrorist organization has claimed it. These people are armed very well, RIA Novosti notes. ‘Citizen soldiers’ have taken up an all-round defensive position now.
Militants from Lugansk Oblast were probably meant. They promised to help Donetsk surrounded by Ukrainian troops. It may also be the group that had crossed the Russia-Ukraine border illegally. The Russian FSB refuted the fact of the breakthrough. But Ukrainian frontier guards demonstrated their battle trophies proving it.
The Ukrainian troops took control over Donetsk Airport on Monday. The whole city is about to be ‘cleaned up’ now. ‘The DPR’ lost from 40 to 200 militants in May 26 battles, various sources report. Ukraine presented Donetsk militants with an ultimatum: to lay down arms or be eliminated. Ukrainian troops will conduct the operation.
